Meet the Face Behind the Posts

Hey there! I'm Tenejah, a 23-year-old adventurer originally from Tallahassee, FL. While I spent my younger years engrossed in travel sports teams, it wasn't until I turned 21 that I ventured into the world of independent travel.

My journey began with a transformative experience studying abroad during my senior year of college. I had the incredible opportunity to spend six weeks at FSU London, exploring the vibrant streets of London and Paris. That experience ignited a passion for travel that has been burning bright ever since.

Despite not having much travel in my earlier years, I made a promise to myself after leaving study abroad: exploring the world would be an integral part of my life. Now, fresh from graduating from my master's program, I'm excited to embark on a series of new adventures. My goal? To document my journey and inspire others to do the same.

I'm particularly passionate about sharing the unique experiences of black women in the realm of travel. I firmly believe that our journeys hold distinctive narratives and perspectives, and I aspire to provide insight and encouragement for other black women to seize the opportunity to see the world.

Beyond my adventures in travel, my world is rich with diverse creative pursuits, and one of my favorite expressions is the art of rug-making. Creating beautiful tufted pieces is not just a hobby for me; its a form of self-expression.

As I dive into the intricate world of rug-making, my hope is to not only create art that resonates but also fuel my passion for exploration. The dream? To turn these creative endeavors into a means of funding my beloved- and admittedly pricey-hobbies, especially the irresistible allure of travel. You can explore and support my tufted art on my Etsy which is linked at the bottom of this page. It’s a small corner of my creative universe and I'm thrilled to share it with you.

The title of my website, "Are We There Yet?" not only playfully reflects my eagerness for the next adventure but also serves as a personal reminder to embrace the present. Often caught wishing time away, I aim to use "Are We There Yet?" to encourage appreciation for the current moments and foster gratitude for the journey, while maintaining excitement for the future.

In this space where art and wanderlust collide, I invite you to enjoy my content and join me on this exciting ride and uncover the beauty that lies in the unknown. I'm eager to engage with fellow creators, share our goals, dreams, and, of course chat about all things travel! Together, let's weave a tapestry of inspiration and creativity.
